Pleiku sits on the plateau in Gia Lai, one of the Central Highlands provinces that grow most of Vietnam’s robusta. The province had about 100,000 ha of coffee in 2023; since its 2025 merger with Bình Định, Nhân Dân puts the larger province at more than 107,000 ha. The province is covered on the Gia Lai region page.
The city’s café tradition, as the provincial paper describes it, is the pavement café: small tables close together on the street and phin coffee, some of them open since the 1960s. Thu Hà is the one we could confirm at a current address, and its family also grows and packs coffee.
This guide is deliberately short. Other old Pleiku cafés appear in local press, but not yet with an address and a recent report we can rely on.
