About this site
A publication about Vietnamese coffee: its beans, its regions, its brewing and its culture. Not a shop, and not a supply chain.
What this is
An independent editorial site about Vietnamese coffee, written in English for readers outside Vietnam.
Its purpose is to treat Vietnam as a serious coffee origin, with its own regions, species, producers, processing methods, brewing tradition and drinking culture.
What we claim to know
We research from primary and authoritative sources where they exist: the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam, peer-reviewed research, and producer and industry publications. Every page that carries a figure lists where the figure came from and when we looked it up.
Where something is contested, uncertain or simply not well documented, we say so on the page. You will find sentences on this site that read “this is attributed to X, but the attribution is not well sourced”.
What we do not claim
We have not visited the farms or cafés we describe. We do not have relationships with Vietnamese producers, cooperatives or exporters. We do not source, import, roast or sell coffee.
We have not laboratory-tested the products we recommend, and every recommendation on this site says what it is based on: usually published specifications and what the brewing method requires.
If you see a claim on this site that implies otherwise, it is an error and we want to know.
On flavour descriptions
When a page says a region’s coffee is “commonly described as cocoa and dark chocolate”, that is a statement about how coffee from that area is typically marketed and cupped, not a promise about a particular bag.
Flavour in coffee varies more by farm, variety, processing and roast than by province. We phrase regional descriptions with that caveat built in. Without it, a sentence about a province’s coffee would be wrong about plenty of the individual coffees grown there.

Some links on this site are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you buy through them at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not determine our editorial conclusions, and every commercial page is written so it would still be useful with the links removed.

Vietnamese names and diacritics
We keep Vietnamese diacritics in everything readers see: Đắk Lắk, not Dak Lak; cà phê sữa đá, not ca phe sua da. URLs use plain ASCII.
Vietnamese terms are explained the first time they appear on a page, and then used normally.
Feeds
This site has no API. It publishes two machine-readable files, both rebuilt every time the site changes:
- an RSS feed of every guide, recipe, region, place and journal article, at /rss.xml
- an XML sitemap of every indexable page, at /sitemap-index.xml
Both are read-only and need no key. For software that discovers them automatically, they are
described in /openapi.json and listed in the API catalog at
/.well-known/api-catalog, following RFC 9727.
Corrections
If something here is wrong (a figure, a place name, a claim about how something is made), we want to fix it. Tell us what the page says, what it should say, and ideally where you got that.
When a change is material, we publish the correction.
