Some links here earn us a commission. Here is exactly how that works and what it does not change.
The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy something through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate relationships do not determine our editorial conclusions.
What that means in practice
We choose what to recommend before we check whether it can be linked. The recommendation comes from what Vietnamese coffee brewing requires; the link is added afterward, or not at all. Where we have not found a good link, the page says “link coming soon” rather than substituting something worse that pays.
Every commercial page must work without the links. Before publishing a page that carries product recommendations, we check that it would still be worth reading if every link were removed. If it would not, the page is a sales sheet and we do not publish it.
We state what a recommendation is based on. We have not laboratory-tested these products. Each recommendation card says explicitly what it rests on — usually published specifications, material properties, and the requirements of the brewing method. We do not write “we tested twelve phins” unless we tested twelve phins.
We include limitations. Every product card lists what the product is not good at alongside what it is. A recommendation with no downsides is an advertisement.
Affiliate links are marked. They carry rel="sponsored nofollow", which is what Google asks
for, and there is a disclosure adjacent to the recommendation rather than buried in a footer.
What we do not do
We do not accept payment for a review, a placement, or a ranking position.
We do not publish sponsored posts presented as editorial.
We do not write product reviews for products we have not either used or researched from primary specifications — and we say which.
We do not claim relationships with Vietnamese farms, cooperatives, exporters or roasters. We have none.

Why we tell you this much
Because affiliate coffee content has a bad reputation and mostly deserves it. The usual pattern is a list of products ranked by commission rate, with invented testing and no stated criteria.
The only way to be different from that is to be specific about the rules and then be checkable against them. If you find a page on this site that breaks one of the rules above, that is a reportable error.
