Cà Phê Long

Four decades of phin coffee on a Hải Châu street corner, roasted on the premises.

Why it matters

Tuổi Trẻ reported in July 2026 that Cà Phê Long began in the early 1980s as a quán cóc, a pavement stall, at this corner, started by Đỗ Long, a former teacher. He roasted the coffee on the premises to his own blend of arabica and robusta. He died that month, aged 70; the paper described the café the next day as a morning meeting place for regulars, with low stools inside and on the pavement.

Finding it

123 Lê Lợi, on the corner with Quang Trung, in Hải Châu. We have not been. The founder died in July 2026 and we have no later report, so check that it is trading as before.

What to order

Phin coffee, from the café’s own roast. The reports do not name a house drink beyond that.
